Gentlemen’s Club

A teacher at an elementary school in SC is helping young black boys with no Dad’s at home by starting a Gentleman’s Club.  The young boys learn about how to properly dress, proper etiquette, and learning how to properly shake hands and make eye contact. I love seeing our older brothers reaching back and helping our young black boys to become men, learning how to operate as a man at an early age.

All Star Code and the Black Male Tech Generation

I could imagine that one would think that if you work in the tech industry, chances are you are white, Indian, Jewish, or Asian.  You would probably be right most of the time.  And that is the stereo type of these race groups – a positive stereo type.  Sadly we don’t hear of very many black men in the tech world or even dominating the tech world.  Where are we?  Well, we are everywhere.  Its just that we are not known for being “techie“.  Not that its about “race”, but if one was asked what industry do black males dominate, they would answer sports (mainly basketball) and music (mainly hip hop). All Star...

4 year old MENSA member Nov26

4 year old MENSA member

Anala Beevers at 4 is probably the smartest girl at her age in the world.  She began mouthing the alphabet at 4 months (yes, MONTHS) old and her numbers at about 18 months old in spanish.  She developed interests in the solar system and reading at such an early age the folks at MENSA just couldn’t ignore her.  She is now a MENSA member.  For those who don’t know what MENSA is, it is the society for extremely smart individuals – the world’s top 1%, aka The High IQ society. With this cute little Einstein quickly becoming very popular in the news and a possible Reality Series (I hope not), she has me saying move along, Honey Boo Boo!  Go...

16 Year Old Morehouse College Scholar – Step...

I am so proud of this young man.  He entered college a the young age of 12.  Not even a teenager yet.  I remember when I was 12.  Most of my time outside of school was filled with playing video games and sports.  This kid definitely burned the midnight oil to get to where he is today.  I believe there are so many other young black men out there who just need to be challenged in the right way to achieve greatness like this.  But it has to be intentional and not by accident.  Stephen is going to do great things with his life that don’t necessarily involve the entertainment industry.   Go forth my young brother.  I’m proud of...
